Driving home from work listening to Praise DC 104.1 is my
daily routine. How I love that inspirational station! I have heard Erica
Campbell’s song “Help” featuring Lecrae numerous times. This particular Friday this
song spoke deeply to my heart. It had been a long week. Lately, I have been
feeling extremely tired. My mind, body, and soul was already calling out for
HELP. Have you ever felt like you couldn’t take anymore? I pulled on side of the
road only 5 minutes away from home and kept listening. My heart started to cry
out to him…LORD I NEED YOUR HELP.
There were so many thoughts running through my head. The 5
W’s and How where my main thoughts. Life can be overwhelming. My life consists of
the Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How? I’m sure everyone has to deal with at
least one of the 5 W’s and How at some point in the day.
I got myself together and got back on the road. When I
arrived home. I just sat in my car and thought deeply to myself. I started to think about
James 1:2-4 which says, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into
various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But
let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete,
lacking nothing.”
It all hit me at once. I was having faith failure. I was
letting the enemy's attacks on my mind, body, and soul forget what the Lord had
promised me. He would never leave or forsake me.
I was not Superwoman, but I did know the Lord. He is my
strength when I am weak. He has always been by my side. Psalms 121:5 says, “The
LORD is thy keeper; the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.” He is my light
in my darkest hour.
I needed to slow down. I needed to listen to him, I had been
so busy, I forgot to take time out and just listen. He was trying to help me,
but I was not listening. He slowed me down on that Friday. He put Erica
Campbell’s song “Help” on that station, told me to pull over and listen. The
Lord knew he could speak to my heart at that time.
In times of need, call out to the Lord. He is always there.
Psalms 62:8 says, “Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart
before Him; God is a refuge for us.”
He was my refuge that day. He showed me
that I needed to take one step at a time. I know everyone says take one step at
a time, but it is true and it works.
I am not Superwoman, but I can do my best, take one step at a
time.
He will guide me; every second, every minute, and every hour.
He is always speaking to us; we are the ones not
listening.
Let the Lord help you.
It is amazing what He can tell you!
