Have you ever beat yourself up because of your past? Or, do you feel like you can never be good enough because of mistakes you've
made?
Past failures & mistakes are exactly where they need to be. In the
past. And, hopefully, you've learned from them and gained some wisdom. Thankfully, mistakes and failures don't define you. God has already defined who
you are and set forth your purpose before you were ever placed in your mother's
womb. And He never, ever condemns you because of your past. Pastor Rick Warren
said it best, "We are products of our past, but we don't have to be prisoners of
it.”
(Isaiah 43:18-19 AMP)
(18)Do not [earnestly] remember the former things;
neither consider the things of old. (19)Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it
springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it?
I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the
desert.
Your destiny is far too great and amazing to be bound by
your past. Don't allow past hurts and mistakes to pull you backwards. But, allow
your faith to propel you forward.
We can not live our lives and fulfill purpose,
if we constantly allow fear, worry and negativity associated with our past to
keep us imprisoned. It is time for you to enjoy the freedom and peace that
Christ came to give. Look at what He promises us in His word.
So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
(John 8:36 NLT)
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to
Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1 NLT)
You have to embrace the truth given to you in the word
of God and believe. The just shall live by faith. You have a real enemy that
does not want you to live, but to wallow in self-pity and guilt. Never having
peace and, never fulfilling purpose. You have to agree with what God says about
you. That you are free. Not just free, but truly free. Once you've confessed
your sins, He has forgiven you. Now, let me ask you a question. Can you forgive
yourself?
You have to believe what God says about you and that He
is for you. Believing, that He has begun a good work in your life and that He
has purposed only good for you. You must make a decision to believe and agree
with what God says about your life.
How do we believe and agree with what God says? Well,
your belief must go beyond lip service. Your faith or belief in what God says
about you and His promises, should dictate your lifestyle. Remember, the just
shall live by faith.
And, it is also our responsibility, to aggressively
eliminate anything that opposes our faith and what God has promised. There can
even be some things within yourself that oppose your faith. Old destructive
mindsets, patterns, bad habits, negative attitudes, negative outlooks, negative
speech, fear, and so forth.
Those are the things you have to address. You have to
get in agreement with God and purposely align yourself with what He has spoken
and purposed. And you do this by bringing every area of your life into total
agreement with His Word.
Your lifestyle must agree. Your actions must agree.
How are you preparing for what He promised? Are you living each day with the
belief that what He promised, He is able to fulfill? Your language must agree.
Speak words of faith. No negative talk. Your attitude must agree. Be positive.
Smile. Be grateful and enjoy where you are right now. Your mindset must agree.
This is how you exercise your faith. By agreeing with your very
life.
Do whatever is necessary to create a faith-filled
environment. This is how we are to live. Our very life should declare to the
Father, "Lord, I believe!" Believe that you are free.
