When You've Been Called By His Name

I was recently reminded of a newspaper article, that talked about how many Real Estate agents were turning to unconventional tactics to sell their properties. One agent, shared how she buried a statue of St. Joseph in the yard of one of her properties to increase the chances of selling it.

She said that after she did it, there was an offer on the house the very next day. The article had a catchy title. It was called 'Whatever Works!'

People are finding themselves in, what we would call, desperate situations. Unforeseen, unfavorable circumstances caused by the economy; job loss, health concerns, marital problems and so forth. And many, out of their desperation, are turning to desperate measures.

They're willing to try this, and that, and whatever, in hopes that their circumstances would improve. Anything they can to find for a solution to their problems.  Failing to realize that God sometimes allows these desperate situations, so that they can realize that whatever really won't work.

Anything that you turn to and depend on other than God can and will be shaken. He is the only One that we can rely on and trust. Many that have looked for answers in other places will now begin to seek the Lord. Because they need answers in what the world calls desperate times.

The world has the following expression: "Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures." This is not so.

Desperate times don't call for desperate measures. Desperate times call for a revelation of the true and living God. The world needs the Lord. The true, and living God. They need to see His power revealed. And, His glory and love experienced.

And these seemingly, desperate times call for a people, that are called by the name of The Lord, to arise and allow the power of God to be released and displayed through their lives.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV)

These desperate times, in which the world is seeking direction, calls for the people of God to arise and walk in the power and authority given to them.

We must always remember that, as believers, we are called by the name of The Lord.
We can't be fearful or worried about what's going on in this world. But, we must be prayerful. Attentively listening for the heart of our Father, as He desires to respond to the cries of a desperate people in this hour.

Remember the nature of our God. He is a loving Father that promises to answer when He's called and wants to respond to those who are hurting, hopeless, and broken.

He created man for fellowship and communion with Him.  And, as His creation cries out for peace, hope, salvation, and deliverance, our God has a response. And what is His response? Well, take one good long look in the mirror. You're it! You are the answer to the ills of our society.  You are to be Christ's hands and feet as He desires to touch the world. You are the solution the world seeks. We are the called out ones, and His name is upon us. If you are a believer, then you must remember, that a people, who are called by His Name, have the name of the Lord upon them.

When Aaron and his sons served as Priests, they were instructed to speak a certain priestly blessing over the children of Israel.

(22)And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: (23)Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them: (24)The Lord bless you and keep you; (25)The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; (26)The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace. (27)So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them. (Numbers 6:22-27 NKJV)

Verse 27, 'So they shall "put" My name  on the children of Israel and I will bless them. Each time this blessing was spoken over the children of Israel, the name of the Lord (His person/His character) was "put" upon His people.

The word "put" in the original Hebrew text means,  (to put, set, place, appoint, make, fix, lay upon, to set, ordain, establish, found, determine, transform, into, make, bring to pass, give, to set or make for a sign.)

So, His name, which is His glory, His fame, His reputation, all that He is, all that He does, was put or set, fixed, appointed, established, ordained, founded, given to, or laid upon His people.

Never forget who you are. You walk around 24/7 with the name of the Lord upon you. That's pretty powerful.

So, when He sends you as His response, remember that you are going with His name upon you.
You shall not be moved.

-Deuteronomy 28:10
And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.

Boldly go forth.  Knowing His name is upon you.
