Patience in Our Waiting Season

"Ugh. Another Saturday night alone. I wouldn't mind going out with my girls but they all have something to do, with their boyfriends. It's okay I'll just hang out with my mommy tonight. Oh, wait she just met that guy at the mall and their going out on their first date tonight. Ah boy! I guess I'll just make a quick stop to the Redbox up the street and have a movie night... Alone...... Again."

Have you ever had this type of dialogue going on inside of your head too? It's like you don't mind being by yourself but it would be nice to just go out and do something with someone of the opposite sex.
"Well what about that guy that hit me up on Facebook the other day? He seemed really nice. But wait, what about his posts? He had a lot of inappropriate pictures on his timeline and videos that would make me feel uncomfortable before I even press the play button."
That's another thing, it's not that you don't get offers to hang out with guys or "get to know them" but you know deep down inside that this is not the right kind of guy for you or your relationship with Christ. Don't worry because God is working it out as we speak. God knows exactly the type of guy that we have in mind and in this "waiting season" He's just perfecting us for one another.

God knows exactly where you are and trust me, He has you right where He wants you for a reason. He sees your tears at night, He hears you calling out to Him and it's not being done in vain. Your patience will make you strong. Not only in your relationship with God but also in your relationship with your husband.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Wait on the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path." I hold on to this scripture like I have nothing else, I feel like He gave us this scripture for a reason because He knew that there would be days that we do get weary. Getting weary isn't the problem, it's when you give into the weariness and just quit on God. You will always get the wrong results. Don't give up on God.

So the next time you're sitting at home alone, know that you're not the only girl going through the season you're in. Us Christian girls sometimes have the longest waiting periods because God is making our love story perfect. I promise you in the end it will all be worth it.

Hold on.
